Cloudy conditions with rain and snowfall likely today



KATHMANDU: The country is currently experiencing the combined influence of westerly and local winds, bringing cloudy conditions and precipitation across several regions, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

The Division said weather is generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the Terai regions are witnessing partly cloudy skies.

Moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning have been reported in parts of Gandaki Province, as well as in some hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and Lumbini provinces.

This afternoon, hilly and mountainous regions are expected to remain generally cloudy, with partial cloud cover in the Terai. There is a likelihood of light rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi Province, and at one or two locations in Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, cloudy conditions are expected to persist in the mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, while other regions will see partial cloud cover. Weather in the hilly and Terai areas is likely to remain mostly clear. Light rain and snowfall are also possible at isolated locations in Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

The Division has warned of possible moderate rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, as well as isolated areas of Sudurpaschim. It has urged the public to stay updated on weather conditions and take necessary precautions.
