Hazy conditions in Terai today; hills to remain mostly clear

KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently free from any significant weather systems, according to the Weather Forecasting Division, though fog and mist have been observed in several parts of the Terai.

The Division said weather conditions remain mainly clear across the hilly and mountainous regions, providing favorable conditions in higher elevations. However, fog is likely to develop in many areas of the Terai this afternoon, which may affect visibility, particularly during early morning and evening hours.

In Koshi Province, the hilly and mountainous regions are expected to remain partly cloudy, while similar conditions will prevail in the mountainous areas of Gandaki Province. The weather will remain mostly clear in other regions of the country.

Tonight, fog is likely to continue in some parts of the Terai. The high hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces are forecast to be partly cloudy, while the rest of the country will experience mainly clear weather.

The Division has advised caution for road and air transportation in fog-affected areas of the Terai due to reduced visibility.
