HoR election: Ballot printing completed in 60 districts



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has announced that the printing of ballot papers for the upcoming election has been completed in all 60 districts, with packing work currently underway.

According to the Commission, both printing and packing of direct ballot papers have been completed in several districts, including Dolpa, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Humla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Rukum (West), Salyan, Surkhet, Bajura and Achham.

Similarly, ballot papers have been printed and packed in 25 districts, including Bajhang, Doti, Dadeldhura, Darchula, Baitadi, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Panchthar, Ilam, Tehrathum, Bhojpur, Okhaldhunga and Sunsari. While printing has been completed in all 60 districts, packing work in some districts is still pending.

The Commission stated that ballot printing has reached its final stage and packing is progressing gradually. All ballot papers are being printed at Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra Limited.

Printing for the proportional representation system has been fully completed. A total of 28.3 million proportional ballot papers have been printed, packed, verified, and are ready for transportation.

For the first-past-the-post (direct) system, 23.23 million ballot papers are required. In addition, the Commission reported that 10.98 million sample ballot papers have been printed and distributed to districts across the country.
