KATHMANDU: The price of gold in Nepal increased by Rs 3,100 per tola on Tuesday. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, gold was traded at Rs 268,100 per tola on the day.
On Monday, gold was sold at Rs 265,000 per tola. The highest recorded price so far this season was Rs 270,600 per tola on December 28, 2025, after which it had started to decline. The recent rise is attributed to the impact of global events, including the U.S. attack on Venezuela, which has increased international demand for gold.
The rise in international gold prices has directly influenced the Nepali market, where gold had already increased by Rs 4,600 per tola the previous day.
Silver prices also went up, gaining Rs 195 per tola to reach Rs 4,880 today. On Monday, silver was traded at Rs 4,685 per tola.
