Kathmandu Valley feels increasing chill as minimum temperature drops to 3.4°C



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley is experiencing a noticeable drop in temperatures, with mornings becoming increasingly chilly as the minimum temperature continues to fall, signaling the deepening of winter in the region.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu was recorded at 3.4 degrees Celsius at 5:45 am today. However, this is only a preliminary reading, as the official minimum temperature will be measured again at 8:45 am. Officials say the temperature is likely to drop further by then.

On Monday, Kathmandu’s minimum temperature stood at 3.5 degrees Celsius, while it was 4 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The maximum temperature has also shown a slight decline, recorded at 15.3 degrees Celsius on Monday compared to 15.7 degrees Celsius the previous day.

The Division records minimum and maximum temperatures daily across the country, including in Kathmandu. The minimum temperature is officially measured at 8:45 am, while the maximum temperature is recorded at 5:45 pm.
