147,120 voters registered in Khotang



KHOTANG: A total of 147,120 voters have been registered in Khotang for the upcoming election to the House of Representatives scheduled for March 5. The district, which comprises ten local levels, has 77,656 male and 69,464 female voters.

According to District Election Officer Rabin Magar, Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality has the highest number of voters at 35,760, while Sakela Rural Municipality has the lowest, with 8,645 registered voters.

Magar said that of the 144,429 voters previously registered in the district, 810 have been registered under inter-district polling arrangements. An additional 1,881 voters were added during the recent voter registration and list update process.

Khotang, which has a single House of Representatives constituency, will have 136 polling locations and 195 polling stations for the election. The federal government has already appointed a Chief Election Officer for the district, which includes two municipalities and eight rural municipalities.
