KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has suspended Armed Police Force (APF) Additional Inspector General (AIG) Banshiraj Dahal over allegations of leaking sensitive security information.
The ministry took the decision on October 5 following a recommendation from the APF, which accused Dahal of disclosing confidential security-related information in violation of professional conduct.
The ministry has appointed an inquiry officer to investigate the allegations and directed the officer to complete the investigation and submit a report within three days. The ministry said further legal action would be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
In a statement, the ministry stressed that personnel serving in both civil and security agencies must comply with professional and legal standards and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive security information.
