Zipline and sky cycling trials successfully completed at Resunga

GULMI: The final testing phase of zipline and sky cycling facilities aimed at promoting adventure tourism has been successfully completed at Garjura, a popular tourist destination in the district.

Following the successful trials, Resunga Municipality has announced that preparations for operating the adventure tourism facilities have been completed. The project includes a 568-metre zipline and a 110-metre sky cycling facility.

Around 40 people participated in this morning’s trial sessions. Lakshmi Khanal, one of the participants, described the zipline ride as smooth and offering spectacular views.

Khanal said it took her about 58 seconds to complete the 568-metre zipline ride. Another participant, Prakash Bhalami, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the facilities, despite some earlier delays in the testing schedule.

Khildhwaj Panthi, chief administrative officer of Resunga Municipality, said the primary objective of the zipline and sky cycling facilities is to promote tourism in the region. He expressed confidence that the new adventure tourism infrastructure would attract more visitors to Resunga.

Binod Marasini, an administrative officer at the municipality, said regular operations would begin within a week. He added that the municipality would oversee the management and coordination of both facilities.

The municipality has set the price at Rs. 600 for the zipline and Rs. 400 for sky cycling.

Located at an elevation of around 2,300 metres above sea level, Resunga offers visitors panoramic views of snow-capped mountain ranges and picturesque landscapes, including Machhapuchchhre and Dhaulagiri.

The project was awarded to Khanal Infra Pvt. Ltd. at a cost of Rs. 12.5 million.
