97 families receive land ownership certificates in two months



KATHMANDU: The Land Problem Resolution Committee has distributed land ownership certificates to 97 families over the past two months.

Of the total, six land titles were provided to landless Dalits, 58 to landless squatters, and 33 to squatters. The committee said land titles were distributed in Ward No. 4 of Buddhashanti Municipality, Ward No. 11 of Arjundhara Municipality, and Ward No. 4 of Kankai Rural Municipality in Jhapa.

In Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-1 of Bardiya, land titles were provided to 29 landless Dalit and landless squatter families. Similarly, 34 landless Dalit and landless squatter families in Ichchakamana Municipality of Chitwan received land ownership certificates. The committee said Ichchakamana Municipality has recorded the highest number of land titles distributed in a single municipality so far.

In Ajayameru Rural Municipality of Dadeldhura, land titles were distributed to seven families of unorganized settlers.
