KATHMANDU: The swearing-in of Speaker Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal is scheduled for today at 2:30 pm.
President Ram Chandra Paudel will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Speaker Aryal at Sheetal Niwas. Following the ceremony, Aryal will proceed to the Speaker’s office to assume his duties.
Aryal was the sole candidate in the nomination process for the post of Speaker last Friday. In today’s House of Representatives meeting, senior member Arjun Narsingh KC formally announced that Aryal had been elected unopposed.
As Speaker, Aryal will now preside over the meetings of the House of Representatives. The next House meeting is scheduled for 1 pm tomorrow (Monday).
