US congratulates Nepal on peaceful House election



KATHMANDU: The United States Embassy in Nepal has congratulated Nepal for conducting the House of Representatives election peacefully.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the embassy extended congratulations to the Nepali people and concerned authorities for successfully completing the democratic exercise.

The embassy also said it looks forward to working with the upcoming government on shared goals related to prosperity and security between Nepal and the United States.

According to the Election Commission of Nepal, around 60 percent voter turnout has been recorded in the House of Representatives election. Following the completion of voting, ballot boxes from polling stations across the country are being transported to counting centers.
