Bishwa Prakash Sharma casts vote, urges voters to decide with calm and conscience

JHAPA: Vice-President of the Nepali Congress, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, cast his vote on Thursday morning in Jhapa Constituency-1.

Sharma, a former Member of Parliament, voted at Kabishiromani Secondary School polling centre in Mechinagar-9 at around 7:30 am.

Urging all eligible voters to participate, he described voting as the most beautiful practice of democracy. “I cast my vote early in the morning. This is the most beautiful exercise of democracy. I expect that all voters will use their conscience as much as possible. Free from emotion and impulse, voters should make decisions that provide solutions for the country,” he said.

Sharma, who also serves as the coordinator of the party’s Central Election Mobilization Committee, expressed confidence about his party’s prospects.

“As a representative of the Nepali Congress, I have cast my vote for the party’s election symbol, the tree. I expect the Nepali Congress to emerge as the largest party from this election,” he stated.

Speaking about the party’s campaign environment, Sharma said he had travelled to around 40 to 45 districts across all seven provinces—from Dolpa in Sudurpaschim to Solukhumbu and Panchthar in the east, and from Manang to Mahottari in Madhes—during the election campaign.

He said he had observed a favorable environment for the Nepali Congress across the country and appealed to all political parties to help ensure a peaceful, fear-free atmosphere for voters throughout the election process.
