NEPSE gains 28.73 points as all indices close higher



KATHMANDU: The stock market posted a strong performance on Monday, with all indices closing in positive territory. The benchmark NEPSE index rose by 28.73 points to settle at 2,639.37.

The market remained bullish throughout the trading session. Share prices of 214 companies advanced, while 37 declined and eight remained unchanged.

Trading activity also picked up significantly. Total turnover increased to Rs 6.47 billion on Monday, compared to Rs 5.01 billion recorded on Sunday.

The Manufacturing and Processing Group led the gains, surging by 3.05 percent. All other sectoral indices also closed higher. The Banking index rose by 0.65 percent, Development Bank by 2.70 percent, Finance by 0.83 percent, and Hotels and Tourism by 2.53 percent.

Similarly, Hydropower gained 1.44 percent, Investment 1.23 percent, Life Insurance 0.49 percent, Microfinance 0.53 percent, Non-life Insurance 0.42 percent, Others 0.78 percent, and the Trading index edged up by 0.22 percent.
