KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Vice President Pushpa Bhusal has said the party’s 15th General Convention should serve as a forum for serious discussion and dialogue on the party’s present and future.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the party’s 15th General Convention, which began today, Bhusal said the Nepali Congress, which has a long history of struggle for democracy, should review its current position and chart a course for the future.
“The General Convention is being held as a forum to discuss and reflect on the present and future of the Nepali Congress, which made history through its struggle for democracy since 2004 BS,” she said.
Bhusal said the General Convention should not be limited to managing positions and selecting leadership. She said not only party leaders and cadres but also everyone who believes in democracy and the Nepali Congress should use the convention as an opportunity for self-reflection on the party’s current state.
“This General Convention is not being held merely to manage positions. It should become a forum where not only Congress leaders and cadres but everyone who believes in democracy and the Nepali Congress can engage in self-reflection,” Bhusal said.
At the event, Nepali Congress Kathmandu President Sabuj Krishna Baniya said the 15th General Convention would give the party new momentum.
Party President Gagan Kumar Thapa inaugurated the General Convention.
