KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress’ 15th General Convention has begun at Khula Manch in Kathmandu.

The convention, which was scheduled to begin on Sunday, will continue until October 8. The party said all preparations for the convention have been completed.

The convention, which was delayed by two days due to rainfall, is being attended by around 7,700 general convention representatives from across the country and abroad. Party President Gagan Kumar Thapa is inaugurating the convention.

According to the convention schedule, the inaugural session is being held on October 4, followed by closed sessions on October 5 and 6. The election process is scheduled for October 7 and 8.

The Election Committee has scheduled the registration of candidacies from 2 pm to 6 pm on October 5 at the National Assembly Hall.

For the first time, both the inaugural and closed sessions of the convention are being held at Khula Manch.

Three separate halls named ‘Himal’, ‘Pahad’ and ‘Tarai-Madhes’ have been set up for the closed sessions. Reports from party office-bearers will be presented and discussed through digital boards at the halls.
