HPV vaccination administered to 2,548 girls in Tanahun



DAMAULI: A total of 2,548 girls in Tanahun district have been vaccinated against human papillomavirus (HPV), which causes cervical cancer.

According to the Provincial Public Health Office, 2,542 sixth-grade students from schools across the district and six out-of-school girls aged 10 received the HPV vaccine. The vaccination campaign was conducted through designated vaccination centers at 254 schools across all 10 local levels of the district.

Of the total, 735 girls were vaccinated in Byas Municipality, 469 in Shuklagandaki Municipality, 112 in Rishing Rural Municipality, 186 in Bandipur Rural Municipality, 216 in Bhanu Municipality, 238 in Bhimad Municipality, 226 in Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality, 92 in Ghiring Rural Municipality, 229 in Devghat Rural Municipality, and 145 in Myagde Rural Municipality.
