Retired civil servants to receive pending benefits by July 9

KATHMANDU: The Financial Comptroller General’s Office (FCGO) has directed all District Treasury Controller Offices (DTCOs) to process and disburse pending benefits to retired civil servants by July 9.

According to the FCGO, the directive covers payments for gratuity, accumulated leave, and medical treatment expenses owed to retired government employees.

Accounts Officer Subhash Chandra Aryal said a circular has been sent to the concerned offices instructing them to release the payments within the revised deadline.

Aryal said the extension follows a decision made on July 3, under Sub-rule (2) of Rule 30 of the Financial Procedures and Financial Responsibility Regulations, 2077, which extends the authorization period for processing and disbursing payments.

The FCGO had earlier announced that payments would only be processed until July 4, but the deadline has now been extended to July 9.
