Another RSP candidate found on Credit Information Centre blacklist

KATHMANDU: Another election candidate from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been found listed on the blacklist of the Credit Information Centre Nepal.

Narendra Sah Kalwar, the RSP candidate from Sarlahi Constituency-3, has been identified as being on the credit bureau’s blacklist.

Earlier, the Election Commission Nepal had on Tuesday annulled the candidacy of Kishori Sah Kamal, the RSP candidate from Dhanusha Constituency-1, after it was found that his name had appeared on the Credit Information Centre’s blacklist eight times.

Now, Kalwar’s name has also surfaced on the same blacklist.

According to details maintained by the Credit Information Centre, Kalwar was most recently blacklisted on November 2024. The listing remains active, indicating that the bank loan he had taken has yet to be settled.

Kalwar is a contractor by profession and has faced allegations of leaving several development and construction projects incomplete after securing contracts.

In the 2022 general elections, Kalwar had contested from the Maoist Centre. He narrowly lost to Hari Prasad Upreti of the UML. Upreti later went on to serve once as Minister for Defence.

Kalwar subsequently left the Maoist Centre and joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party.
