Govt conspiring to postpone election, says UML vice chair Ram Bahadur Thapa

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Vice Chair and Coordinator of the party’s Election Mobilization Committee, Ram Bahadur Thapa, has alleged that the government is conspiring to postpone the upcoming election.

Speaking at a press meet organized by the UML Publicity and Publication Department at the party’s central office, Thapa expressed suspicion over the government’s intentions regarding the election schedule.

“The Prime Minister has been repeatedly giving indications about postponing the election,” Thapa said. “A recent statement suggesting that elections in the Himalayan region could be delayed is one clear example.”

Thapa further accused the government of being engaged in various conspiracies surrounding the election process. He claimed the government is attempting to drag political parties into unnecessary disputes and exert influence over the judiciary.

According to Thapa, such actions are aimed at creating confusion and uncertainty around the election and weakening democratic practices. He warned that any move to delay the election would be unacceptable and urged the government to ensure that the polls are held on time in accordance with democratic norms and constitutional provisions.
