Western low-pressure system brings clouds, fog and snowfall



KATHMANDU: The country is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system. As a result, weather conditions are generally cloudy in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as in other hilly and mountainous regions, while the rest of the country remains partly cloudy.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, fog is likely to occur in some parts of the Tarai region this afternoon. The high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are expected to remain generally cloudy, while other areas will experience partly cloudy conditions.

There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of these provinces.

Similarly, fog may persist in some areas of the Tarai region tonight. The high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are expected to be partly cloudy, while the rest of the country will remain mostly clear.

Light rain and snowfall are possible at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

The Division has urged the public and concerned authorities to remain alert, noting that fog, rain, and snowfall may affect daily life, health, tourism and trekking activities, as well as air and road transportation.
