Tharu Kalyankarini Sabha delegation meets PM Karki

KATHMANDU: A delegation from the Tharu Kalyankarini Sabha (Tharu Welfare Association) met with Prime Minister Sushila Karki today to extend an invitation to the upcoming Tharu Rastriya Maghi Mahotsav.

Premilal Chaudhary, coordinator of the festival’s main organizing committee and President of the Sabha, formally invited Prime Minister Karki to the event, scheduled for Magh 1 (January 15) at Tundikhel, Kathmandu.

During the meeting, President Chaudhary urged the Prime Minister to address the concerns of the Tharu community, particularly regarding civil service reservation quotas for the community.

Responding, Prime Minister Karki stressed that no one should obstruct the exercise of rights guaranteed under the constitution and law. “The exercise of constitutionally and legally established rights must not be hindered by anyone,” she asserted.
