Weather: Haze in the Terai, snowfall in the Himalayas



KATHMANDU: The influence of westerly winds is being felt across the country today. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, foggy conditions are expected in most parts of the Terai region this afternoon.

In the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, as well as in the high hilly and mountainous parts of Gandaki and Karnali Provinces, the weather will be partly cloudy, while the rest of the country will remain clear.

There is also a chance of light rain and snowfall at one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces.

Tonight, fog is expected to continue in many areas of the Terai. The hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province will be partly cloudy, while other areas will remain clear. Light rain and snowfall may occur at isolated locations in the high hilly and mountainous parts of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, light rain and snowfall are possible in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces, along with fog in the Terai region. The Division has advised the public to take necessary precautions, as these conditions may partially affect daily life, tourism, health, and road transport.
