BANKE: Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj, Banke, has introduced specialized services for the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory, lung and sleep-related disorders.
Dr. Ranjit Pandey of the hospital said the new services would provide significant relief to patients suffering from chronic respiratory illnesses and sleep disorders.
The services cover a range of conditions, including chronic asthma, persistent cough, breathing difficulties, fluid accumulation in the chest, tuberculosis, pulmonary fibrosis and other lung diseases, Dr. Pandey said.
Patients experiencing sleep-related problems, such as snoring, interrupted breathing during sleep, excessive daytime sleepiness and persistent fatigue, can also receive specialized diagnosis and treatment.
The hospital will additionally provide treatment for both drug-sensitive and drug-resistant tuberculosis, along with intensive care for patients suffering from severe pneumonia and other critical respiratory conditions.
Specialized services have also been introduced for patients requiring ventilator support, including ventilator management and assistance with safely weaning patients off mechanical breathing support.
Similarly, Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Nabin Darnal said a dedicated clinic was operating to provide specialized care for patients with chronic lung diseases, lung cancer and sleep disorders.
The introduction of these services is expected to improve access to specialized respiratory healthcare in the region and reduce the need for patients to travel to other cities for treatment.
