RASUWA: Syafrubesi is among the areas badly affected by the Bhotekoshi flood, with a large number of houses and hotels swept away, causing extensive property damage.
Although road access is available for around five kilometres from Dhunche, reaching the Syafrubesi market beyond that point remains difficult. The Trishuli River has severely damaged the Pasang Lhamu Highway.
The disruption of road connectivity has also made relief distribution, rescue operations and the search for missing people difficult in the affected areas.
Local residents and family members say their relatives remain unaccounted for. As the days pass, families are not only losing hope of finding their missing loved ones alive but are also increasingly concerned that their bodies may never be recovered.
According to Brigadier General Ujjwal Bikram Rana, Assistant Commander of Shree Shrinath Battalion in Rasuwa, personnel from the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police have been continuously involved in rescue, relief and search operations in the affected areas since the day the flood struck.
Security agencies continue search and rescue operations in Syafrubesi and other affected areas. Authorities are also working to compile a complete assessment of the damage caused by the flood and locate those who remain missing.
