POKHARA: Traffic has been suspended during nighttime hours on the Beni-Jomsom and Beni-Darbang roads following forecasts of heavy rainfall in the region.
The decision was taken by the District Security Committee and will remain in effect from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am on Sunday and Monday nights.
The Beni-Jomsom road, which forms part of the Kaligandaki Corridor, is a key route connecting travelers to Muktinath and the Korala border point.
Similarly, the Beni-Darbang road, which links western Myagdi with the district headquarters, has also been closed during the same period.
Chief District Officer Ravindra Acharya said the restrictions were imposed as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety amid adverse weather conditions and the increased risk of landslides and flooding.
