Rain likely in parts of country today



KATHMANDU: The country is likely to witness moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the hilly and mountainous regions will remain generally cloudy, while the Terai region will experience partly cloudy conditions.

The Division has forecast chances of moderate to heavy rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning in some parts of the hilly and mountainous regions. Likewise, a few places in the Terai areas of Koshi and Madhes Provinces, as well as one or two locations in other Terai regions, may also receive rainfall.

Similarly, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy across the country tonight. Moderate to heavy rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning is likely in some parts of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces, and in a few areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

The Division has also warned of heavy rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning in one or two places in the hilly regions of Lumbini Province.
