One killed, one injured in road accident in Rupandehi



KATHMANDU: A youth was killed and another injured in a road accident in Devdaha of Rupandehi on Monday night.

According to the Area Police Office, Devdaha, a bus (Lu Pra 01-001 Kha 0816) heading from Butwal to Kathmandu collided with a scooter (Lu 92 Pa 7990) coming from the opposite direction at Ghodaha Kanta Chowk in Devdaha-9.

The accident occurred at around 10:30 pm, leaving 28-year-old Sunil Pandey of Devdaha-5 seriously injured.

Pandey was rushed to Devdaha Medical College in Bhaluhi, where he died during treatment, according to Police Inspector Bhimsen Bista.

The scooter rider, 28-year-old Krishna Paija of Devdaha-5, was also injured in the incident and is currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital, police said.
