KATHMANDU: The initial minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley has recorded a slight increase today.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the minimum temperature measured at 5:45 am this morning stood at 10.5 degrees Celsius.

At the same time on Monday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 10.0 degrees Celsius. However, the official minimum temperature measured at 8:45 am yesterday was 9.6 degrees Celsius.

The official minimum temperature for today will also be determined at 8:45 am. Meteorologists say the temperature may dip slightly by then or, in some cases, remain close to the early morning reading.

The Division records daily minimum and maximum temperatures across the country, including in Kathmandu. The minimum temperature represents the lowest temperature recorded, generally reflecting conditions from night to early morning, while the maximum temperature indicates daytime conditions.

The minimum temperature is officially recorded at 8:45 am and the maximum temperature at 5:45 pm each day.
