KATHMANDU: The government has decided to withdraw the Social Media Bill from the Federal Parliament.
A Cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday approved the decision to withdraw the Bill Relating to the Operation, Use and Regulation of Social Media, 2081, from the Federal Parliament, government spokesperson and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal said.
The meeting also approved an amendment to the master plan of the Singha Durbar complex to allow for the construction of statues of martyrs of the Gen-Z movement within the premises of the under-construction Parliament building, Aryal added.
Earlier, on Magh 8, Prime Minister Sushila Karki had directed concerned ministers and officials to revise the master plan related to the Parliament building construction and move forward with the project.
