WALING: A total of 111 pints of blood have been collected in Syangja for people injured in the Bhotekoshi flood.
A blood donation camp was organised at Bhirikot Bayarghari on Wednesday with technical support from the District Red Cross Society Syangja.
Bhagwat Prakash Malla, president of the Nepal Tarun Dal Syangja, said the blood donation drive was organised amid concerns over a possible shortage of blood due to the large number of people injured in the disaster.
He said the camp was organised with the belief that everyone should come forward to provide humanitarian assistance during a national crisis. Donors participated in the camp voluntarily.
Dinesh Aryal, president of the Nepal Red Cross Society Syangja, said the collected blood would be stored at the Red Cross blood bank in Syangja and supplied to those in need.
