Heavy rain likely in Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini today



KATHMANDU: The monsoon system remains active across Nepal, bringing generally cloudy conditions throughout the country today, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions.

Similar weather is expected in parts of the Tarai, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms likely at a few places in the Tarai of Lumbini Province and at isolated locations in the Tarai of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpashchim provinces. One or two places in the Tarai of Madhesh and Koshi provinces may also experience rainfall.

The Department has also warned of the possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two locations in the hilly districts of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Residents in vulnerable areas have been advised to remain alert, as intense rainfall could trigger localized flooding, landslides, and disruptions to transportation.
