PMO responds to Rolpa crash, forms four-member probe committee



KATHMANDU: Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has expressed sorrow over the jeep accident in Thawang Rural Municipality–1, Salyap of Rolpa that claimed 20 lives.

The government issued a condolence statement three days after the incident, formally expressing grief over the tragedy.

According to the PMO, a four-member probe committee has been formed under the leadership of the Ministry of Home Affairs to investigate the incident. The committee is coordinated by a Superintendent of Police from the Lumbini Province Police Office.

The committee has been directed to submit its report within three days.

In the statement signed by Joint Secretary Hemraj Aryal, the government paid tribute to the deceased and extended condolences to the bereaved families, while wishing a speedy recovery to those injured in the accident.
