Rabi Lamichhane says RSP mandate is to transform, not run, Singha Durbar

KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has asserted that the public gave his party a mandate not to manage the Singha Durbar, but to transform it.

Addressing the first meeting of the newly elected House of Representatives, Lamichhane claimed that his leadership has already begun the process of national transformation. He said that the results of their work would demonstrate change.

“We have not come to run Singha Durbar, but to transform it. The beginning has already been made,” he said. “We want to show change through action, not just words.”

Lamichhane’s remarks have been seen as a signal of his party’s commitment, as a new political force, to systemic reforms rather than conventional governance.
