Vehicle carrying election officials meets accident in Ramechhap



KATHMANDU: A vehicle carrying election officials and ballot boxes met with an accident in Ramechhap district on Monday.

According to police, the vehicle bearing registration number Na 7 Kha 67/68 was transporting election materials from Manthali to polling centers in Ramechhap Municipality-2 and 3 when it crashed at Deurali Swamidanda in Ward No. 2.

The District Police Office said the vehicle fell off a cliff in the Deurali Sirubari area. Election staff and security personnel were on board at the time of the incident.

Details regarding any human casualties are yet to be confirmed, police said, adding that rescue efforts are underway and further information is being collected.
