Rastriya Swatantra Party chief Rabi Lamichhane to return to public events from Tuesday

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane is set to resume public appearances from Tuesday after recovering from a leg injury.

Lamichhane sustained the injury during a public event in Janakpur on January 19, where he was participating alongside senior party leader and former Prime Ministerial candidate Balendra Shah.

Despite the injury, Lamichhane initially continued with his activities. However, due to a worsening infection (cellulitis), he was admitted to the hospital. He was discharged on January 29 but stayed home for rest as advised by doctors.

Deputy Chairperson D.P. Aryal told Khabarhub that Lamichhane will gradually resume public engagements, starting with a program in Chitwan. “He could not appear publicly earlier due to the leg injury. He will start attending events from tomorrow and then proceed to Chitwan,” Aryal said.

Doctors explained that the infection caused swelling, redness, heat, and pain in the affected area. The infection worsened because Lamichhane initially ignored the injury, which allowed it to spread. If left untreated, the infection could have spread further, potentially affecting the bloodstream.

Aryal added that Lamichhane will not immediately travel across the country but will gradually resume activities while taking care of his health.
