Kathmandu morning sees minimum temperature climb to 5.5°C

KATHMANDU: The minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley has risen slightly compared to the previous day, according to the initial measurement taken today (Friday).

The Weather Forecasting Division said that the minimum temperature in the Valley was 5.5 degrees Celsius at 5:45 a.m. On Thursday, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu was 5 degrees Celsius at the same time but dropped further to 4.6 degrees Celsius by 8:45 a.m.

The official minimum temperature for Kathmandu is recorded at 8:45 a.m., which is generally lower than the earlier measurement. The division also measures the maximum temperature daily at 5:45 p.m. across various locations in the country.

Meteorologists explain that clear skies at night lead to lower minimum temperatures in the morning, while cloudy nights keep temperatures higher. Conversely, maximum temperatures rise on clear afternoons due to direct sunlight, but remain lower when it is cloudy.
