Both Houses of Federal Parliament scheduled to meet today



KATHMANDU: Both Houses of Federal Parliament are scheduled to meet today, with the House of Representatives and National Assembly set to discuss several reports, bills and ministerial matters.

The House of Representatives is scheduled to meet at 11:00 am. According to the proposed agenda, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam will present the Eighth Annual Report of the National Natural Resources and Finance Commission, 2083 on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

Similarly, Hari Dhakal, chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, will present the committee’s report on the Remuneration, Conditions of Service and Facilities of Officials of Constitutional Bodies (First Amendment) Bill, 2083.

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is scheduled to propose sending the Employees Provident Fund (Tenth Amendment) Bill, 2083, the Citizens Investment Fund (Third Amendment) Bill, 2083, and the Payment and Settlement (First Amendment) Bill, 2083 to the respective committees for clause-by-clause discussion.

Similarly, the National Assembly is scheduled to meet at 1:15 pm. Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security Sita Badi is scheduled to respond to oral questions concerning her ministry.

Prime Minister Balendra Shah is also scheduled to present the annual report of the Indigenous and Nationalities Commission for the fiscal year 2080/81 to the National Assembly.

Similarly, Puja Chaudhary, chairperson of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee, will present the committee’s annual report for fiscal year 2082/83.

The Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and the Legislative Management Committee are also scheduled to hold their respective meetings today.
