RSP postpones nominations to secretariat, office bearers and central committee

KATHMANDU: The first meeting of the newly elected central committee of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided not to make any immediate nominations to the party’s secretariat, office bearers, or central committee.

Speaking after Wednesday’s meeting, held following the party’s first general convention, General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya said no decision was taken on nominations.

According to Acharya, the meeting primarily focused on exchanging congratulations among the newly elected office bearers and central committee members. He added that preliminary discussions were also held on assigning responsibilities for three party departments.

General Secretary Nisha Dangi said the party statute grants the chairperson the authority to make nominations and that appointments would be made gradually as required.

“We have entrusted that responsibility to the party chair. He will make nominations as needed,” she said.

Under the RSP statute, the party chair is authorized to nominate 51 central committee members, 33 secretariat members, and 10 office bearers. The party said the nomination process will move forward in the coming days based on organizational needs.
