33 SSPs transferred; Kathmandu and Lalitpur police chiefs replaced



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police has transferred 33 Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) in a major reshuffle approved by Prime Minister and Home Minister Balen Shah.

As part of the transfers, the chiefs of the Kathmandu and Lalitpur district police offices have been changed.

Dilip Ghimire has been appointed chief of the Kathmandu District Police Range, replacing Ramesh Thapa, who has been transferred to the Police Headquarters.

Similarly, Tul Bahadur Karki has been assigned as chief of the Lalitpur District Police Range.

Under the reshuffle:

  • Subash Chandra Bohara has been appointed chief of the Narcotics Control Bureau.
  • Shanti Raj Koirala has been posted to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.
  • Nakul Pokharel has been transferred to the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau.
  • Nabaraj Adhikari has been assigned to the Cyber Bureau.

According to the Police Headquarters, the transfers also involve several SSPs posted in provincial commands, training institutions and specialized bureaus across the country.

The reshuffle comes as part of the regular administrative reorganization within Nepal Police aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and leadership deployment.
