320 polling stations and 817 polling centers set up in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: The District Election Office, Kathmandu, has announced that a total of 320 polling stations and 817 polling centers have been established across the capital for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections scheduled for March 5.

Kathmandu has the highest number of constituencies in the country, with 10 constituencies in total.

According to Srijana Rayamajhi, Information Officer at the District Election Office, there are 710,708 registered voters in the ten constituencies, including 364,000 women, 346,116 men, and seven others.

Constituency-wise details:

Kathmandu Constituency No. 1: 22 polling stations and 57 polling centers; total 48,849 voters (25,252 women, 23,237 men).

Kathmandu Constituency No. 2: 40 polling stations and 100 polling centers; total 88,708 voters (43,393 women, 45,315 men).

Kathmandu Constituency No. 3: 29 polling stations and 72 polling centers; total 64,479 voters (32,923 women, 31,556 men).

Kathmandu Constituency No. 4: 33 polling stations and 88 polling centers; total 76,141 voters (39,599 women, 36,542 men).

Kathmandu Constituency No. 5: 31 polling stations and 90 polling centers; total 78,114 voters (40,832 women, 37,278 men, 4 others).

Kathmandu Constituency No. 6: 32 polling stations and 79 polling centers; total 67,759 voters (34,956 women, 32,802 men, 1 other).

Kathmandu Constituency No. 7: 29 polling stations and 78 polling centers; total 67,411 voters (34,738 women, 32,673 men).

Kathmandu Constituency No. 8: 23 polling stations and 65 polling centers; total 57,811 voters (29,898 women, 27,913 men).

Kathmandu Constituency No. 9: 34 polling stations and 90 polling centers; total 78,495 voters (40,278 women, 38,217 men).

Kathmandu Constituency No. 10: 47 polling stations and 98 polling centers; total 83,301 voters (42,716 women, 40,583 men, 2 others).

This comprehensive setup ensures that voters across all ten constituencies of Kathmandu will have access to polling facilities during the upcoming elections.
