Final farewell to journalist Sitaula; figures from Kulman to Balen attend (In photos)



KATHMANDU: Journalist Dinesh Sitaula, 45, who passed away during treatment at Grandi Hospital in Kathmandu on Sunday afternoon, was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat.

Sitaula collapsed and suffered a brain hemorrhage while in Achham on Friday, where he had accompanied Rastriya Swatantra Party leader Balendra Shah. He succumbed to his condition on Sunday.

His mortal remains were kept at the Film Development Board for tributes before being taken to Pashupati Aryaghat for the final rites. Several figures from the arts and public life attended the farewell, including former Energy Minister Kulman Ghising and former Kathmandu mayor Balen Shah.

Following his death during treatment, Sitoula’s body was also taken to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for postmortem examination. Prior to that, it was kept for a brief period at the Film Development Board to allow colleagues and well-wishers to pay their last respects.
