Office of Returning Officer established for NA election



MORANG: An office of the Returning Officer has been brought into operation in Biratnagar for the election of National Assembly members scheduled for January 25.

The office was inaugurated on by Chief Judge of the Morang District Court, Bhishma Raj Prasain, who also shared details of the election program for the National Assembly election, 2082 BS.

According to Cholaraj Dangal, Acting Chief of the Election Commission, Koshi Province, the Returning Officer’s office for the election will operate from Biratnagar.

As per the election schedule approved by the Election Commission, the preliminary voter list will be published on January 3, between 10:00 am and 11:00 am. Following the review of claims, objections, and complaints, the final voter list will be published on January 6 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Nomination papers may be filed on January 7 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Complaints against candidates can be submitted on January 8 between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. Candidates may withdraw their nominations on January 11 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, after which the final list of candidates will be published from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm the same day.

Election symbols will be distributed by the respective election officers on January 12 between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. Voting will take place on January 25, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at designated polling stations.

In Koshi Province, elections will be held to fill three National Assembly seats: one for women, one for Dalits, and one for other groups.
