Weather expected to improve from this evening

KATHMANDU: After several days of rain and cloudy skies caused by Cyclone Montha and a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, the Weather Forecast Division has predicted that weather conditions across Nepal will start improving from this evening.

The Division said most parts of the country, which have been experiencing widespread rain and snowfall, will gradually see clearer skies as the weather system weakens.

Currently, most provinces are witnessing rain and snowfall. The Division said skies will remain mostly cloudy over Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while Karnali and Sudurpaschim will see partial cloud cover.

Moderate rainfall is expected this afternoon in many areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with light showers likely in some hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim. Heavy rainfall is possible in parts of Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati provinces and isolated areas of Lumbini.

Similarly, moderate snowfall is likely in the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with the possibility of heavy snowfall in a few locations.

The Division has advised the general public, farmers, travelers, and drivers to take necessary precautions in areas where heavy rain and snowfall are expected.
