RSP to announce Rupandehi-3 by-election candidate today

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is set to announce its candidate for the upcoming by-election in Rupandehi Constituency-3 today (Sunday).

According to party spokesperson Manish Jha, the party’s secretariat will meet at 1:30 PM at the central office in Kathmandu, following a call by acting party president DP Aryal. The candidate announcement will take place after the meeting.

Spokesperson Jha said the meeting will focus on finalizing the Rupandehi-3 candidate, launching a special migration campaign, and discussing other key party matters.

Following the secretariat session, the party will formally introduce its candidate and announce its electoral campaign entry for the by-election.

The by-election in Rupandehi-3 is scheduled November 3 to fill the vacant seat in the House of Representatives. The seat has remained unfilled since the death of Deepak Bohara, who was elected from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) in the 2022 general elections.

Major parties are in the process of finalizing their candidates. The ruling CPN-UML has already confirmed Khimlal Bhattarai as its nominee.
