Rainfall reported in several parts of the country



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged the public to remain cautious as rainfall continues in various parts of the country.

In the last hour, heavy rainfall was recorded at the Rainastar Rain Measurement Center in Lamjung, which measured 115.6 millimeters. Light rain has also been reported in areas surrounding the Kathmandu Valley.

According to the Department, other notable rainfall measurements include 17.1 mm in Arughat (Gorkha), 14.2 mm in Syangja, 15.2 mm in Sindhupalchowk, 16.2 mm in Doti, and 11.8 mm in Thalara (Bajhang).

The Department has warned that water levels in some small rivers across Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces may rise rapidly. It has also indicated a moderate risk of sudden flooding and advised the public to take necessary precautions.
