Traffic fines generate over Rs 24 million in revenue in Makawanpur



HETAUDA: The Makawanpur District Traffic Police Office collected Rs 24.1 million in revenue from traffic rule violators in the last fiscal year 2081/82 (2024/25).

According to Chief Police Inspector Bachuram Phuyal, the fines were collected from 30,034 vehicles found violating traffic regulations during the fiscal year.

In comparison, during the previous fiscal year 2080/81, action was taken against 47,899 vehicles, generating Rs 36.9 million in revenue.

Meanwhile, Makawanpur recorded 407 traffic accidents in 2024/25, resulting in 50 deaths and 965 injuries.
