NOC hikes petroleum prices



KATHMANDU:  Nepal Oil Corporation has announced an increase in the prices of diesel, kerosene, and petrol, effective from midnight. The corporation’s board decided to raise the retail price of diesel and kerosene by Rs 1 per liter and petrol by Rs 2 per liter.

In contrast, the price of aviation fuel has been reduced. The domestic aviation fuel rate has dropped by Rs 3 per liter, while the international rate has been reduced by USD 22 per kiloliter.

With the new rates in effect, diesel and kerosene will now cost Rs 140.50, Rs 142, and Rs 143 per liter for the first, second, and third categories respectively. Petrol will be priced at Rs 156.50, Rs 158, and Rs 159 per liter across the three categories.

The new rate for domestic aviation fuel is Rs 118 per liter. International aviation fuel has been set at USD 901 per kiloliter in Kathmandu, USD 721 in Pokhara, and USD 706 in Bhairahawa.

According to Nepal Oil Corporation, the price revision was based on the latest price list received from Indian Oil Corporation, which showed an increase in the cost of diesel, kerosene, and petrol, while the purchase price of aviation fuel had declined.
