Thailand beat Nepal in close encounter

BANGKOK: As part of preparations for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers in Uzbekistan, the Nepal women’s national football team faced a narrow defeat against Thailand in a friendly match on Friday.

The closed-door match saw Nepal fall 1-0 to the host team, with the only goal of the game coming in the second half.

The friendly is part of Nepal’s build-up to the Asian Cup Qualifiers, providing valuable match experience against higher-ranked opponents.

Despite a strong defensive performance in the first half, Nepal was unable to hold off Thailand’s attack after the break.

Nepal will face Thailand once again in an official international friendly on June 2.
