Body of young man found buried in Kathmandu, five arrested



 

KATHMANDU: A young man’s body has been found buried in the Makalbari area of Gokarneshwor Municipality-8, Kathmandu.

The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Rahul Sah from Chakraghatta Rural Municipality-8, Sarlahi.

Sah’s body was discovered behind the RK Motorcycle Workshop in Makalbari. According to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, a preliminary investigation suggests that Sah was murdered due to a transaction-related issue.

The Police Circle Bouddha initiated a search after receiving information that Sah had been missing since March 24.

Following the investigation, police arrested five individuals in connection with the incident, including four Nepali nationals and one Indian citizen. The arrested individuals are 22-year-old Nipu Mandal, 18-year-olds Bijay Yadav and Karan Kumar Mahato, 23-year-old Jodhan Mandal, and 45-year-old Uttam Mandal, all from Chakraghatta Rural Municipality, Sarlahi.

Additionally, 29-year-old Sunil Sharma, an Indian national, was also arrested.

The suspects have been remanded for five days for further investigation, as ordered by the Kathmandu District Court. The case is under investigation.
