NSL: FC Chitwan takes on Pokhara Thunders today

KATHMANDU: FC Chitwan and Pokhara Thunders are set to face off today at 6 pm in the Nepal Super League (NSL) 2025 at Dasharath Stadium.

Both teams, managed by Nepali coaches, will be looking to make a strong start to the season.

Chitwan, led by coach Nabin Neupane, is determined to break past its playoff curse, having struggled in previous seasons. With a revamped squad featuring national team captain and marquee player Anjan Bista, Chitwan has strengthened its lineup with key signings, including national team regulars Sumit Shrestha and Abhishek Limbu.

The club has also brought in experienced foreign recruits such as Jamaican national goalkeeper Amal Knight, American defender Jonathan Campbell, and Uzbek center-back Nodirbek Mavlonov.

Pokhara Thunders, under new head coach Suman Shrestha, will be looking to build on last season’s impressive league performance, where they topped the standings but faltered in the playoffs.

Captain Nawayug Shrestha will lead the squad, with young forward Samir Tamang serving as the marquee player. The team also features national team players Ayush Ghalan and Suraj Thakuri.
